US Judge Allows NAACP Lawsuit Over xAI Data Center

A US judge has allowed a lawsuit against xAI’s data center in Colossus, Memphis, over alleged air pollution.

The lawsuit, filed by the NAACP, claims that xAI installed and operated at least 35 gas turbines at the data center without proper air pollution permits.

The judge rejected xAI’s argument that the turbines were exempt from licensing requirements because they are mobile equipment.
