Turkey Signs US-Led Artemis Accords, Its Moon Rovers to Hitch a Ride with China
Turkey's first lunar mission will likely be with China, despite signing the US-led Artemis Accords.
A team of over 120 students and professors at Middle East Technical University in Ankara has built prototypes of two AI-powered rovers for the Chinese Chang’e-8 mission.
The mission is originally planned for 2028 and aims to reach the lunar south pole.
Turkey is not part of the International Lunar Research Station, a base China plans to build with Russia and other partners.
