Nvidia and AMD shares climb as oil prices pull back
Shares in AI chipmakers Nvidia and AMD rose as oil prices continued to fall, helping Wall Street stocks finish mostly higher.
Earnings reports from tech giants have shown they plan to invest heavily in data centres and chips, despite growing impatience from investors for returns.
Monday saw Apple post forecast-topping sales and profits, but warned that increasing memory chip costs would hit its profit margins in the coming months.
Shares in Apple shed 1.9 percent, but Nvidia and AMD both climbed, along with AI data centre operator CoreWeave, as the tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 0.8 percent to 25,372.
