Hong Kong to Use AI to Speed Up Building Maintenance Processes

The government will use artificial intelligence to speed up building maintenance processes, including auditing and analyzing documents. This is part of a comprehensive reform to the building maintenance industry, announced last week, to prevent a repeat of the Wang Fuk Court fire that killed 168 people last year. The reforms also include the decommissioning of the Housing Bureau’s Independent Checking Unit and the establishment of project-specific teams to assist housing estates with major maintenance and renovation works.
