Artificial Intelligence Enters the World of Art

Artificial intelligence can now create artworks that rival human creations, raising questions about authorship and the nature of art. The technology, known as UI, uses machine learning algorithms to generate images based on patterns and styles learned from existing artworks. This has led to concerns about the role of human artists and the potential for AI-generated art to be indistinguishable from human creations.

Umetnostna zgodovinarka Katarina Mohar notes that the concept of art has always been subjective and that AI-generated art can be considered a new form of artistic expression. She argues that the focus should be on the impact and meaning of the artwork, rather than who created it.

Grafični oblikovalec Strahinja Jovanović adds that the use of AI in art raises questions about the relationship between the artist and the viewer. He notes that AI-generated art can be seen as a form of ‘projection’ of the artist’s idea onto the viewer, rather than a direct expression of the artist’s own creativity.
