Youth Jobs at Risk from AI, Warns IMF Chief
The International Monetary Fund's managing director says AI is a slow-moving tsunami that will hit young job seekers first.
The IMF has estimated that nearly 40% of jobs worldwide will be affected by AI, with 60% of jobs in developed economies and 23% in poor countries at risk.
The IMF chief warned that governments need to change their approach to education to prepare workers for an AI-driven economy.
The World Bank’s president also emphasized the need for structural policies to support youth employment, rather than just crisis measures.
