Yandex Data Center Hit by Drone Attack, Disrupting Services
Yandex's data center in Vladimir, Russia, was hit by a drone attack, disrupting services and affecting 64,000 clients.
The attack is the third in four days, with the previous two targeting data centers in Sassovo and Kalouga. The incident has put Yandex Cloud in ’emergency mode’, with two of its zones, ru-central1-a and ru-central1-b, becoming unavailable. The company’s clients are being advised to activate their backup solutions.
The attack has also affected several other companies that rely on Yandex’s infrastructure, including the Russian railway network and several e-commerce platforms. Yandex has negotiated with three Russian cloud providers to accommodate its clients, and has added drone and missile attacks to its list of force majeure events.
