When AI lets its guard down on the Schwarzschild metric
AI questions the interpretation of mathematical constructs in modern physics.
When discussing physics with AI, it’s easy to get lost in the details of famous physicists’ contributions. However, if we ask AI to explain why it uses certain mathematical constructs, we may uncover some interesting insights.
For instance, AI points out that the concept of vacuum in physics is not as straightforward as it seems. Landau and his colleagues showed that quantum electrodynamics can lead to a problem when extrapolated to high energies, known as the Landau pole.
AI suggests that physicists may be mistakenly attributing properties of mathematical constructs to physical reality, rather than questioning their own understanding of the underlying structure.
