US Voters to Decide on Data Center Limits in 10 States
US voters in 10 states will decide whether to limit data center development in their communities.
Patent opposition to the rapid expansion of data centers to support the AI wave is being fueled in local elections.
Ohio is one of the fastest-growing data center markets in the country, with 21 proposals on the ballot in the midterm election.
The proposals aim to slow, halt, or impose new requirements on data centers, which are large facilities that provide the necessary processing power to run AI applications.
