Ukraine Attacks Third Russian Data Center, Disrupting Yandex Services
Ukraine has attacked the third data center of Russian tech giant Yandex, disrupting its services in various regions.
The data center in Vladimir, 200 kilometers east of Moscow, was damaged, and its operations were completely halted. No casualties were reported, and emergency services were called to assess the damage. Yandex’s team is evaluating the damage and exploring plans to restore services.
Some Yandex services, including Yandex Go (taxis), Yandex Pay (payments), and Yandex Yedá (food delivery), failed in several regions of Russia. In Rostov, all taxi services, including local ones, stopped functioning.
The attack on the data center is part of a larger cyberwar between Ukraine and Russia, with both sides launching attacks on each other’s critical infrastructure, including data centers and telecommunications infrastructure.
