Traficon Tests AI-Powered Age Verification System in Stores
The Czech retail chain is testing a system that uses AI and camera analysis to detect underage customers and alert staff.
The system uses camera analysis and AI to anonymously estimate the age of customers, and if it determines that a customer is likely under 18, it alerts staff to verify their age.
The technology also allows for the display of age-restricted content to be switched off when a parent is present with a child.
Traficon has partnered with the Na věku záležà project to promote responsible sales practices and prevent underage access to nicotine products.
