South Africa's AI Policy Team Faces November Deadline

The team is working under pressure to meet the deadline, with internal government consultations scheduled from December to February. The policy discussions focus on compute and data sovereignty, as well as model sovereignty to incorporate South Africa’s official languages. The team is also developing an implementation road map to start immediate implementation after cabinet approval.
