Samsung Heavy Industries Pursues Commercial Deal for 50MW Floating Data Center

Samsung Heavy Industries is pushing for a commercial deal for its 50MW floating data center project, 'Project Zeus', in the US.

Samsung Heavy Industries is pursuing a commercial deal for its 50MW floating data center project, ‘Project Zeus’, in the US. The project is expected to be the first commercial deal for the company’s floating data center business. If successful, it could pave the way for mass production of floating data centers.

The project is being developed in collaboration with Mousterian Corporation, and the two companies have already signed an engineering contract for the project. The contract covers the basic design, detailed design, and production design for the 50MW floating data center.

The floating data center is expected to be built at Samsung Heavy Industries’ Geoje shipyard, which has a 390m x 65m dock. The company is planning to use the dock to build the data center in a parallel production process, which could increase efficiency and reduce costs.
