S&P Slams Alarm Over Meta's $135B AI Bet

S&P Global downgrades Meta's outlook to negative due to AI investment costs outweighing potential returns.

Meta has spent heavily on data centers, advanced servers, and other infrastructure for AI, but S&P Global Ratings is now concerned about the company’s cash flow.

The credit rating agency downgraded Meta’s outlook from stable to negative, citing uncertainty around the company’s massive investments and weakening cash flow.

S&P Global estimates that Meta’s cash flow will remain negative after investments of $39 billion in 2026 and $71 billion in 2027, and may remain so after 2028.
