Russian FAS Starts Investigation into Cartel Agreement Worth 676M Rubles
Russian FAS begins investigation into cartel agreement worth 676 million rubles, thanks to AI-powered system
The Russian FAS has started an investigation into a cartel agreement, relying on data from the ‘Anti-Cartel’ system. The AI-powered system identified suspicious signs during auctions. The total value of these purchases exceeded 676 million rubles.
Two companies are accused of manipulating prices by creating the appearance of competition between 2024 and 2026. If found guilty, they may face administrative penalties, including fines.
The ‘Anti-Cartel’ system was launched in 2025 to prevent and detect agreements that restrict competition. FAS began using AI in the system in 2026 as part of its digital transformation program.
