Romania's Energy Distribution Company Invests in Cybersecurity
DEER invests 15 million euros in cybersecurity, but says more is needed to protect against growing threats.
The head of Romania’s energy distribution company, DEER, has emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in the energy sector, citing the need for more investment to protect against growing threats.
Mihaela Suciu, the director general of DEER, said that the company has invested around 15 million euros in cybersecurity in 2025, but noted that this is a relatively small amount compared to the risks involved.
Suciu also highlighted the increasing use of artificial intelligence by attackers, who are using it as a tool to launch cyber attacks.
