Paris prosecutors launch investigation into ANSSI data breach, exploiting Metabase software vulnerability.
The French government’s cybersecurity agency, ANSSI, has been hacked by attackers exploiting a flaw in the Metabase software. The agency, responsible for combating cyberattacks in France, suffered a data leak. The attackers exploited a vulnerability discovered in Metabase, a software used to analyze data and create dashboards, this summer.
The Direction interministérielle du numérique (DINUM), the French government’s digital transformation agency, was also hacked using the same vulnerability.
Paris prosecutors have opened an investigation into the incident, focusing on unauthorized access, data maintenance, and extraction from a state-run data processing system.
