NTT to Build Large-Scale Data Center in Osaka for Anthropic
The data center will be the largest in Japan, with a maximum capacity of 500 megawatts and a construction cost of up to 10 trillion yen.
The Japanese government has been promoting the development of data centers as part of its growth strategy, aiming to expand the market to 40 trillion yen by 2025.
However, building a data center is a complex process that requires significant time and resources, and there are also challenges related to cooling and power supply.
To address these issues, companies are exploring innovative solutions, such as using factory sites, schools, or even space for data centers, or leveraging the sea or space for data storage and processing.
