NTT Data in Advanced Talks for Anthropic Data Center in Osaka

NTT Data is in advanced talks to build a data center for Anthropic in Osaka, Japan. The project’s cost is estimated to reach 1 billion yen, approximately $6.3 billion. This will be Anthropic’s first dedicated facility in Japan.

The planned power supply to the data center is 500 megawatts. Partial operation is expected to start in 2028.

NTT Data and Anthropic aim to sign a contract before the end of the 2026 fiscal year, which ends on March 31. NTT Data declined to comment on the talks, while NTT Group did not provide an immediate comment.
