Moonshot apologises after Kimi K3.1 Pro roll-out stumbles as promotional scrutiny widens

Chinese AI start-up Moonshot apologised for limiting customers' use of its latest model due to computing constraints.

Moonshot AI, developer of the popular Kimi series, apologised for a botched roll-out of its latest model, the Kimi K3.1 Pro, which also invited scrutiny over its promotional practices and cybersecurity measures.

This is not the first time Moonshot has faced challenges serving its models due to computing constraints.

To rectify the issue, Moonshot will restore 25% of the monthly quota for all active subscribers, equivalent to about a week’s usage.
