Korean AI Data Centers to Generate 15 Trillion Won in Annual Corporate Taxes

The report, which analyzed the economic impact of AI data centers, found that 1 GW of AI data center capacity would generate 8281 billion won in annual corporate taxes and 828 billion won in corporate local income taxes.

The report also found that the local government would receive a significant amount of revenue from the data centers, with the local income tax from 1 GW of capacity equivalent to about 12% of the local government’s annual budget in one city.

The report’s findings are based on a benchmark calculation using the financial performance of a similar company, and the actual tax revenue generated by the data centers could be significantly higher or lower depending on various factors.
