Journalist Placed in Custody for Spreading False News
Mamadou Cissé, alias Momo Cissé, was taken into custody by the Division spéciale de cybersécurité for spreading false news.
The journalist’s arrest is linked to a video published on the YouTube channel Sen Téranga, in which he accuses the police of preventing influencer Nourah Ba from using the restroom during her detention in a Dakar police station.
He also accused a police officer in civilian clothes of insulting Nourah Ba on the corniche before her arrest.
The journalist could be referred to court on Friday.
