Google Negotiates Role in Pentagon's Golden Dome Cybersecurity Initiative
Google is in talks with the US Defense Department to participate in a data security initiative as part of the $185 billion Golden Dome missile defense program.
The Pentagon is building its own industrial consortium to secure data streams flowing into the central military command and control software of the program.
Google’s data storage, network, and cybersecurity infrastructure would be provided as part of the partnership, ensuring communication remains intact even if enemy forces compromise terrestrial networks or mobile phone masts.
The initiative will be integrated into a overarching command architecture being developed by a group of defense technology companies, including Palantir Technologies, Anduril Industries, and SpaceX.
