Google Launches Universal Cart to Simplify AI Shopping
Google Universal Cart brings products from retailers into one new AI shopping hub, tracking price drops and promo codes across Search and Gemini.
Universal Cart allows users to save products they discover through Google Search and Gemini into a shared shopping cart, with items remaining available when switching between services.
The tool monitors saved items for price drops and restocks, sending notifications when prices change or previously unavailable products return.
The experience is powered by Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), an open standard designed to help AI agents and retailers communicate across different stages of the shopping process.
