Gangwon Governor Expresses Regret Over AI Data Center Attraction Scandal

Gangwon Governor U Sang-ho expressed regret over the scandal surrounding the attraction of an AI data center in Gangwon, stating that turning corporate attraction into a subject of political contention is undesirable.

He also mentioned that the situation, where corporate executives are being investigated and even the governor himself had to undergo police questioning, is regrettable and may harm the investment environment in Gangwon.

He emphasized that corporate attraction should not be a subject of political contention and that efforts will be made to ensure that ongoing investments from major companies proceed smoothly.
