Fit Energy has announced plans for a fuel cell power generation and data center project in Pennsylvania, with FuelCell Energy set to supply natural gas fuel cells under a pre-existing agreement.
The project’s location in Newport Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, is significant for FuelCell Energy, which earns revenue from equipment orders, not just site announcements.
Bloom Energy and Plug Power, however, have different business models and are not directly impacted by the announcement, with Bloom Energy’s stock rising 4% and Plug Power’s stock remaining unchanged.
