French company plans 10 billion euro data center in Finland
Sesterce plans to build a 10 billion euro data center in Finland, near the city of Jyväskylä.
The data center will be built on the site of a former paper mill in Kaipola, which was closed in 2021. The site already has existing infrastructure, including an electrical grid, water systems, buildings, and logistics connections. Sesterce plans to use this existing infrastructure to minimize the environmental impact of the project.
The data center will have a power capacity of 200 megawatts and will be used for artificial intelligence and supercomputing. Sesterce has already invested in the site and has signed a contract with a future client, but has not yet revealed the client’s identity.
