European Union Imposes Levy on Non-EU Parcels

The EU introduces a €2 handling fee on packages from outside the bloc to curb the influx from China.

The European Union will impose a €2 handling fee on packages from outside the 27-nation bloc, effective from Sunday.

The new levy aims to curb the influx of parcels from China, particularly during the upcoming holiday shopping season.

The fee will be in addition to the EU’s existing €3 fee on small parcels and will apply to each type of item in a package, regardless of its value.
