Data Center at ESAC in Madrid Gets a Modern Makeover
A team of architects transformed the heart of the European Space Agency's data center, making it more open and connected to its surroundings.
The renovation, led by Antonio Martín Soria and Eduardo Martín-Ortega, aimed to give the data center a more prominent role in the building’s design.
A large glass surface now allows visitors to see the data center from the new lobby, which has become a hub for receptions, visits, and institutional events.
The renovation also included the transformation of a previously hidden interior patio into a bright and airy space, connected to the lobby and other work areas.
