Critical Gap in Enterprise Cybersecurity
Despite expert consensus on best practices, password usage remains low among security professionals.
A recent survey of over 2,000 security experts from nine countries found that 43% still use passwords as their primary authentication method.
However, the same survey revealed that 31% of experts consider hardware-based keys the most secure option, while 27% prefer synchronized keys.
Experts attribute the gap between knowledge and practice to the legacy of outdated authentication methods and the lack of integration of best practices into onboarding processes.
