Bill Gates Identifies Four Occupations That May Resist AI Takeover
Gates says four areas of work may be less affected by AI: programming, biology, energy, and professional sports.
Gates has previously spoken about how AI will change the job market, and he has identified programming, biology, and energy as areas that may be less affected. He also mentioned professional sports as an example of an activity where people will still want to watch others perform.
Gates explained that while computers will be able to perform many tasks, it doesn’t mean that humans will want to give up all tasks to machines. He used the example of baseball, saying that people won’t want to watch computers play the game.
Gates said that for most things, humans won’t be needed, but people will decide what they want to keep for themselves. He mentioned that production, transportation, and food cultivation will eventually become less of a problem with the help of AI.
