Balkan Countries Struggle to Find Skilled Workers

The Balkan region is facing a severe shortage of skilled workers, including electricians, plumbers, and carpenters, who have been leaving the region for better-paying jobs in Western Europe.

According to a report by the Agency for Labor and Employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the construction sector is the most affected, with 61.6% of employers in the sector reporting a need for skilled workers.

The report also highlights the difficulty in finding people with practical skills, with lists of waiting candidates for domestic craftsmen becoming so long that citizens are forced to do basic repairs themselves.
