Amazon to Invest Over €16 Billion in Germany by 2027
Amazon plans to invest over €160 billion in Germany by 2027 to expand its cloud computing, AI, logistics, satellite internet, and media businesses.
The largest investment will flow into Amazon’s cloud computing department AWS, with a planned investment of €4.8 billion to expand the cloud computing region in Frankfurt and related AI infrastructure to meet growing AI service demands.
Amazon will establish a second robotics and AI research laboratory in Berlin as part of this investment plan, focusing on research into robotics technology and AI systems to promote more efficient collaboration between humans and automation technology.
The new research center will create a batch of high-skilled positions, including application scientists, robotics hardware engineers, robotics software engineers, and robotics systems engineers.
