Amazon Ends NDAs in Data Center Negotiations, Following Microsoft

Amazon Web Services will stop signing nondisclosure agreements with government agencies on data center projects.

AWS CEO Matt Garman announced that the company will no longer enter into nondisclosure agreements with government agencies for its data center projects, following Microsoft’s similar commitment.

The change removes the layer of confidentiality for government agencies working with Amazon on data center projects, allowing officials to discuss terms with constituents without legal constraints.

AWS has also pledged more than $1 billion over the next five years for community projects in areas that host its data centers, focused on education, job creation and energy accessibility.
