Amazon and Alphabet to Dominate Cloud Computing for Decade
Amazon and Alphabet are well-positioned to dominate cloud computing due to their strong returns on AI infrastructure spending.
The two companies are getting strong returns on their AI infrastructure spending, with Amazon signing five-year contracts and getting a payback within two to three years.
Alphabet is getting a payback in around two years, and in half that time when it uses its own tensor processing units (TPUs).
Their custom chip businesses and strong core businesses also give them an advantage in the market.
