AI Unveils 461 Years of British Naval History

Historians have used artificial intelligence to digitize 100,000 rare naval documents, shedding light on 461 years of British naval history. The project aimed to create a comprehensive digital archive of the UK’s naval history, which will be made available to the public.

The digitization process involved using AI algorithms to scan and transcribe the documents, which were then verified by human historians to ensure accuracy. The project is a significant step forward in the field of digital humanities, allowing researchers to access and analyze historical documents more easily.
